Biography
THePETEBOX is one of the world's finest human beatbox artists, hailing from Nottingham, UK.
For the uninitiated, human beatboxing is creating music, mimicking a wide range of instruments and effects using just the mouth and voice.
THePETEBOX is a leading player on the beatboxing scene, making his mark after only a few months of gigging by winning the Radio 1 beatbox championships in 2005. Since then his breathtaking abilities to create, and re-create many styles of music such as hip-hop, drum 'n' bass, house, garage and even rock, has established him as an explosive live performer and hipÐhop local, having appeared at over 100 club nights around the UK and a number of festivals abroad in the past two years.
His skills have led him to support legends such as Grandmaster Flash, DJ Yoda, The Automatic, Grooverider, Scratch Perverts, Tim Westwood, even The Human League and a host of UK hip hop heroes including Sway, Ty, Skinnyman and Killa Kela, as well as frequently wowing the crowds at some of the UK's most renowned club nights including UK Takeover, Chibuku, Firefly and Detonate.
In 2006 THePETEBOX added to his battle titles by winning the Midlands beatbox championships. His titles and notoriety on the stage have led him to be featured on Kerrang and BBC radio, as well as many underground stations and his recordings have featured on many artists mix tapes and tracks and a range of adverts and products.
Ever pushing the art form forward THePETEBOX now includes a loop pedal in his stunning live shows, adding to his ability to adapt to and blow away any crowd Ð he has performed to hip-hop lovers, drum 'n' bass heads, breakbeat, garage, house and rock crowds, his versatility ensuring him success in all situations.
The coming year sees THePETEBOX pursuing his first solo studio project, more live and studio collaborations and as ever showcasing his art form at venues around the globe.
